Baguley is a light rail/heavy rail interchange station, due to be served by Metrolink and Northern Rail. It is due to be constructed as part of the Metrolink phase 3b plans to Manchester Airport and will open in 2016[1]. The Metrolink station will be located on the Airport line on Southmoor Road next to Roundthorn Industrial Estate[2]. The train station will be located on the Stockport-Altrincham line.

Trams are scheduled to run along the Airport line towards Manchester Piccadilly station northbound and towards Manchester Airport southbound. Trams will run every 12 minutes[1].
Trains are scheduled to run along the Stockport-Altrincham line between Manchester Piccadilly station and Chester, with trains running every hour.
